I have had my fitbit for almost a year and love it. I gives me all the info that I need to loose weight. I have never used the primium services. the free online stuff works very well.

if you have any particular questions you an mail me on here and ask.

you are also posting at a bad time of day so there is not many people on here to see the post.

I love mine - it does tell you how many calories you have burned and steps you've taken. I only paid £50 for mine and I think it was worth it

I personally don't have a fit bit but quite a few of my friends on MFP have them and love them. A lot of them like the way it automatically adds their exercise calories back and adjusts their calorie allowance.

I ended up buying a Mio Motiva as I wanted a heart rate monitor and didn't have a big budget.....it's ok and gives me an idea of my heart rate and recovery during my exercise program, one day I might be able to afford something a bit mre comprehensive with th ability to download data to my pc.

Has anyone found that their Fitbit has actually helped them in losing weight??

I like mine. I do think it's a little bit more than a 'glorified pedometer'. I like the way it syncs with MFP and I don't bother adding any unplanned exercise (like walking) any more. (I still have to add my swimming for example). It also gave me a better idea of what my actual calorie burn was per day. I was trying to do TDEE - 20% but I was calculating my TDEE was 1600, my FitBit tells me it is closer to 1900. And I do like to see how my sleeping is also.

Edit: yes it has helped me because I was eating too little and feeling that I couldn't continue. Knowing that I had more wiggle room with my eating (and would still continue to lose weight) was very useful for me.

i have the fitbit zip. i got it at verizon for $50. it's great if you remember to use it everyday and it does sync with MFP but honestly I wouldn't make that purchase again. It hasn't motivated me more or change my workout routine.

Im terrible at rushing into things.. if i want something i normally just go ahead and buy it. Realising that i cant really afford it comes after the splurge! thanks for all the comments its got me thinking before buying it now :)

the purchase that I am glad i made is my garmin forerunner 10. it's a gps watch. i do alot of run/walks and i can set it to notify me when to run and when to walk. i do like it and use it every time i go for a run or walk outside. you can also use a free app on your phone called runkeeper. it does almost the same thing but i don't always want to carry my phone on me when i run.

I have the Zip, and I love it. Hindsight, I probably didn't really need it, but it's also nice to know when I have a much more active day. There's been countless times where I've gained an extra 200-500 calories because I have been zooming around like crazy.

Since getting mine on 2/10, I have lost 7.5 lbs. Would I have lost that much without? Probably. Do I feel like it's a valueable tool? Yes.

Does the Fitbit Zip work just as well as the Fitbit One??
  • Mine is every bit (no pun intended---ok maybe a little one!) worth the money.
    It definitely helps!
    Customer service is the BOMB!!
It will totally help you get off your butt and move...daily goals.
I have the one not the zip. Use it for a month and you can send it back if you don't like it. I am completely addicted and would not be happy if something happened to it!

Jaikagen.. ive been reading about the Fitbit one and that also tracks your sleep. I think the only difference is the flex is attached to your wrist.

Buy one. I got 3. One for me, one for son & one for someone on here..... fitbit replaced my one with a free one so hubby took my old one.

We all love them. Best motivator out there.

Well worth the money...and don't let ANYONE tell you it's a glorified pedometer.

The new one coming out wont let you know details as you go along.... not as good as far as I can see. I like knowing how far off my 20k in steps I am rather than have to rely on some lights on a wristband.

I have the Zip. Works nice. Much better build than other pedometers that I've had. BUT, I don't believe it gives you any advantage in terms of losing weight. If you want to keep track of your steps, this does great. You aren't going to lose 10 pounds because you bought it.

I love my Fitbit one. Find myself walking in circles sometimes to get my 10,000 steps in on my off-days... :)

I've had my fitbit for about 9 months now and I feel like I am missing a limb if I ever forget it! I am always choosing to use the stairs, walk the longer route, or even just walk up and down my kitchen while cooking to get more steps in - even if I'm already over my goal!

I also agree with it being good to measure your TDEE - MFP says I need to eat 1240 calories to lose 2lbs but according to fitbit I should be eating around 1600 - that's a big difference!

I recently convinced my manager to buy one and she is just as addicted as me. She lost hers while on holiday and customer services had a new one delivered to her within a couple of days of returning home free of charge.

As far as i can see the Flex can link to my S3 and i can see the info on there when i would want too, and it has little LED lights to show your progress, the bar will fill up. The only downside is it doesnt have ability to track stairs etc, but i can live without that i think

I love mine, started with the ultra and upgraded to the one at Christmas. My husband was using my old ultra until it cracked, but it has been replaced free of charge by Fitbit, even though it was almost 12 months old. There customer service is absolutely brilliant.

It does motivate you to move more, especially when you are only 2000 steps from your next badge, many a time I've been jogging on the spot in the kitchen at 11.45pm to meet my daily target x

The fitbit One already tracks sleep.

To the OP, I love my fitbit, been using it for around 8 months (I had a fitbit Ultra before the One came out then upgraded at Christmas). It has definitely helped increase my activity levels and I love having a good idea of my TDEE so I know I can balance my eating with my energy expenditure and lose/gain/maintain my weight accordingly.

That has a lot of members.
