From C25K to Serious Runner?

Just curious if there are any other MFPers out there that consider themselves to be serious runners who started with the Couch to 5K program?

I started C25K at almost 250 pounds. I could literally not run for 2 minutes straight. Now I have run 3 full marathons and 18 half marathons since 2010 and I weigh about 148 pounds. My PRs are 3:52 full marathon (3 weeks ago) and 1:39 half marathon (5 weeks ago).

C25K literally changed my life.

I took me a year to complete C25K. I ran my first 5K in March '12, my first 10K June '12, and my first 1/2 just last weekend. I am thinking of doing a marathon next year, and seriously thinking of a titration in Sept '13.

I have had a heart attack and some injuries, but I am progressing!

not 'serious' per se, but certainly 'seriously addicted'

Did C25K last summer, then joined a running club, currently clocking up 15+ miles a week and doing my first Half on 21st April.

WOW..That is all I can say. what an incredible set of achievements you have done! Throughly inspiring!

I completed c25k last May ( May 5th, to be exact) and will be running my first ever marathon ( first ever race of any event) a year to the day on this May 5th.

I don't know if I can be considered a 'serious' runner, but I have not missed a single training run, regardless of distance or time constraints, and proud to say outdoors in all weathers and never on a treadmill.

Not like you, no LOL. I've done many 5Ks, a 10K, and my first half is in April. But I'm just shooting for under 3 hours for that LOL.

I never heard of the C25K when I started out running (wish I had; it might have made things easier for me); but I guess I would consider myself a serious runner. I have competed in two Warrior Dashes and one 5K and have been training for my first ever half; to date my test 13.11 was 1:50:55, so not quite as fast as yours but maybe I'll get faster (but I'm not young, so...). I was planning a race towards the end of this month but it turns out it starts at 0730 and I'm an hour away, so...I'm a lookin' for a different one. I used to do 4:30 mornings but not in the last few years, so I'm not going to try it.

THIS! I killed myself trying to run but I haven't looked back! I can't afford alot of races but i've done about 8 5ks a 5 miler a half and one full. I injured myself badly last june and I am still struggling to run but i committed to another half in may but cant run without a brace and take longer to recover than i used to. Take care of your knees and avoid too many hills. I live in an area that is all hills so it has been hard on my body. I now drive to an area that is flat to run just to save my body the extra trauma of my neighborhood. Amazing PR btw!

    Me- Kinda!!!

I started with C25K a little over two years ago, and ran my first 5K in March 2011. I hadn't even completed the 9 weeks yet. I had only done the twenty minute run.

I will be running my first half on the two year anniversary of my first 5K. I'm excited and terrified. Two years ago I NEVER thought I'd voluntarily run 13 miles.

Completing C25K I've run about 30 5Ks, did my first 10K last fall, and this will be my first half in a few weeks.

    I did.

At week 3 or 4 I got frustrated and just took off running though. My record is 4 halfs in one month. I took a year off from cardio and this weekend I did 20 miles over 3 days.
