Hello and good day to ya. My name is Joe Chuhak and I live in Vermontville, Michigan. I am a dedicated father of 3 awesome kids and my wife is a full time BSN RN. I stay at home for a living taking care of my kids with my oldest son Austin who has SMA Type 2. He recently moved off to MSU as a Freshman and is living on campus with a full time aide. My other two children Zane and Katie are 11 and 9. My wife is a trooper working extra to make sure we can take care of our family by ourselves. I worked for 19 yrs in the Beer Industry and hated to walk away from my job. It was the best thing we have ever done now.

My battle begun last fall right after Thanksgiving when I just turned 40. My son who has been by my side since he was born moved away and I am nearing the age that my father started his battle with Cancer. He had Colon Cancer when he was 43 and then came back in his liver at 45. He died shortly after that.

Now this for some reason had a huge impact on my mental state. I started coming back to all the feelings of when he died and my mind just would not let it go. I was having trouble sleeping after 17 years of being by a monitor to help my handicapped son during the night to roll him over and things were just terrible. I started eating and eating a lot and was very depressed. I topped the scale at 256 which was the heaviest I have ever been. This was in early December of 2012. I made an appt with a Doctor locally because I had not had a family doctor in a number of years.

I started out on some meds to help me feel better about my mental state and started watching what I ate a bit more. Started going back to my old ways of how I knew to eat from my old trainer Jason McCammon at Iron Quest Fitness in Lansing. I started losing weight and have always loved to train and it was hard at first again. My body was not in shape and I felt crappy.

Now I have once again started seeing Jason at Iron Quest and he has learned a ton since I saw him last. I am on a great program and eating healthy. I feel great and to date have lost over 20lbs.

Glad to be here and I really enjoy using the website. The database is awesome and it is really easy to keep track of the food I eat.

Joe :)
