Unmotivated :(

Hi!

I've been an avid Jillian DVD user for about 10 months now and have seen great results but those results have now come to a complete standstill.

I am currently doing ripped in 30 but I have no motivation and I am just so bored of doing these dvds and I want to kickstart my inch loss again.

So my question would be what should I do instead to get some significant results within 2 months?

Sidenote: I do eat well so I know it's not my diet :)

Thankyou!!

I'm certainly no expert (really!) but I would think change up the exercise a bit. I'm told the best thing is to keep your body guessing. Maybe start some weight training, yoga, or my thing of the day...Zumba!

If you don't enjoy those workouts anymore you need to find something else. If you are bored or just don't like something, you won't do it. I get bored very easily and change my workout programs all the time. Do whatever keeps you moving. There are TONS of DVD options. I personally like Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme, Insanity and now just started Les Mills Combat and so far really liking it. For strength training I'm doing New Rules of Lifting for Women. For less intense days I like Leslie Sansome's walking dvd's and Biggest Loser Power walk, or just hopping on the treadmill. I look forward to it warming up so I can get outside for some fresh air and walks.

And a class...classes are great for motivation. I have to have a good reason not to go - no excuses when someone says "where were you last nigh?"!!! LOL
  • Hi
It said in your post you have been doing the DVD for 10 months. What has probably happened is that your body has adapted to the workout you are requiring it to do. In order for our bodies to change shape (i.e. lose fat or gain muscle or both) we need to constantly change the way we exercise, thus triggering a new response from our bodies. This certainly applies for weightlifting, I'm not sure about fat loss but its worth a shot.

Hahaha! Yes I would be motivated to avoid humilation! :P How many times a week would I have to attend a class? I was considering spinning but I am so used to doing a dvd every night and I don't know if working out less would still provide the same results :s

in bold... this is irrelevant for fat loss. energy is energy. it doesn't matter how you expend it. when the body has to dip into its fat reserves for that energy, you lose fat.

Hi Yeah I've mixed up her DVDs over that 10 months but they are all the same thing just strength and a small amount of cardio I think I will just have to find an alternative that will give me good results
