just trying to be healthy

Just saying hello:) I was introduced to this sight by a friend of mine on facebook...
I'm honestly just trying to get healthy. Looking at me, I'm naturally pretty petite, however I have genetically high cholesterol (so much that at one point a doctor suggested I go vegetarian). I used to be that person who could eat anything she wanted, but in the past year I've put on 10 lbs. I don't look bad, I can't even say that I feel particularly bad about myself. However, I just want to know that I'm being a good steward of my body and am keeping healthy.
I'm considering setting some goals, but I'm just not sure how realistic they are... I don't have a particular number on the scale that I have in mind as there are days I look in the mirror and feel like I look like maybe I've taken off some of that 10lbs, but then weigh myself and I'm 2 lbs heavier than the day before when I felt really bloated! lol, so I can't say that I'm concerned about the scale. It's really hard to say! What are some goals that some of you have set for yourselves other than weight loss? Maybe complete a mud run of sorts? I'd love to try Tough Mudder, but definitely have a ways to go before then. I'm doing C25k now, so maybe my first goal will be a 5k? We will see!
