it simply brings the thread back up top....it "refreshes" the topic so that it is not hidden by all of the newer threads/posts.....

it is used for a couple of things, 1) to get your topic back up to the top of the list. 2) to put it into "MY TOPICS" it keeps your last 25 posts for easy reference. No stupid questions0
-
people also use it so the thread goes in their topics and they can read it later without having to scroll around to find it0
-
???/ it does that simply by typing the word?0
-
Not a stupid question! I had to ask that... and I also had to ask what NSV meant lol0
-
???/ it does that simply by typing the word?
No. The word itsself does nothing. You could put any word in the box and it would have the same effect. People just use that word to mean they have nothing specific to add to the topic, they just want to save it under their topics or move the thread up the recent posts list.0 -
and nsv means what? OOHHHH,,,blonde moment here It just clicked!!!! Thanks. (now i really really feel silly)0

It doesn't matter what you type, but people will just type "bump" if they don't have anything else to add but want to bring the topic to the top or save it in their topics. You don't have to say "bump" you can say ":)" or "good post" or anything0 -
NSV = non scale victory0
-
and nsv means what?
Non Scale Victory Like going down a pant size, or someone commenting on how healthier you look, ect.0 -
and nsv means what? OOHHHH,,,blonde moment here It just clicked!!!! Thanks. (now i really really fell silly)
NSV - Non Scale Victory such as your clothes feeling looser0 -

and nsv means what?
NSV means Non-Scale Victories. They consists of victories that you have and that are not related to your weight in a numeric mindset. It could be anything from just feeling happier in general to throwing away a pair of jeans because it was to loose.0 -
I've heard WAY more stupid questions on these forums . . . .0
-
BUMP is an accronym for Bring Up My Post....
It was originally intended for the OP (Original Poster) to use as a way to make his or her post active again in a forum setting.0 -
The only stupid questions are those you neglect to ask.0
-
I had to ask as well when I started so don't let people make you feel stupid! x0
