it is used for a couple of things, 1) to get your topic back up to the top of the list. 2) to put it into "MY TOPICS" it keeps your last 25 posts for easy reference. No stupid questions =)

people also use it so the thread goes in their topics and they can read it later without having to scroll around to find it

No. The word itsself does nothing. You could put any word in the box and it would have the same effect. People just use that word to mean they have nothing specific to add to the topic, they just want to save it under their topics or move the thread up the recent posts list.

It doesn't matter what you type, but people will just type "bump" if they don't have anything else to add but want to bring the topic to the top or save it in their topics. You don't have to say "bump" you can say ":)" or "good post" or anything

NSV means Non-Scale Victories. They consists of victories that you have and that are not related to your weight in a numeric mindset. It could be anything from just feeling happier in general to throwing away a pair of jeans because it was to loose.

BUMP is an accronym for Bring Up My Post....
It was originally intended for the OP (Original Poster) to use as a way to make his or her post active again in a forum setting.
