I would recommend making your diary public so we can see exactly what you are eating.
You have to be careful what fruits you are eating - an apple has quite a few carbs due to sugar. I limit myself to one serving of fruit a day. They say berries are your best option - blackberries, raspberries, blueberries. These are low in sugar, and high in fiber.
I had a rough week last week, but generally I try to keep it under 50-60 carbs (this is before subtracting fiber).0 -
when i logged the small apple it was 20 carbs . i thought that was alot lol only really ate it as i was 150 calories under my goal of 1200 some people have told me under 100 then others under 60 right down to under 20 which i thinks impossible as alot of veg has carbs .. what about your fat and protein did u make it higher being on a low carb diet?0

Everyone is different. You may do really well on 100g of carbs a day, while I may be better off at 50. I originally started off trying to eat 20g of carbs a day, and realized it was not enough. I've been gradually upping my carbs as I go along, and I've realized that I feel my best at around 50.
When you do low carb, you definitely want to make sure you are getting plenty of fat and protein. Feel free to take a look at my diary (ignore Tuesday - Sunday). My goals are currently set at 20% carbs, 25% protein, and 55% fat. I never get that much fat, and try not to consume that many carbs. Try to stay under 90g of protein a day, and don't worry too much about fat. Fat and protein are what help keep you satisfied and going on a feeding frenzy.0 -
thanks =D ill see how i get on less carbs than before anyway so hopefully things start moving ive lost 5stone 11lb and ive been stuck for a while hence being back on low carb =D0

marksdailyapple.com (primal/paleo) suggests 50-100g/carb/day for "effortless weight loss". I lost the majority of my weight eating up to 100 g/day, and and had a pretty steady loss. Now, I'm trying to shift the last 10-15 lbs. so I'm aiming more for 45-60 g/day.
Customize your macro settings with a percentage that puts your carb count about where you want it for your regular intake of calories (taking into account your average exercise calories, if you eat them back). I aim for about 100-125g protein and the rest fat.0 -
Wow! I have to keep my carbs under 20g. I don't eat fruit when I'm on programme, apart from the very rare strawberry or two. My carbs come mainly from veggies.
If you want to take in some calories without carbs, have a piece of cheese - good for your bones0 -
Alright guys, this may seem a little weird but I wanted to check with everyone to see if maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’m new to this site, joined mostly for quick access to food info, but I’ve been on my new diet for about two weeks, maybe more. I’m trying a version of the atkins, you know, low carb and everything. But I wonder if maybe I cut too many carbs? Is that possible? Otherwise I may be going crazy. My husband’s started to think so at least. I’ve started seeing things, well, I saw something, and I wondered if the diet might be messing with my body’s natural rhythm or something.
Just a few days ago me my husband and my little baby girl were driving back from a get together at one of his friend’s house. I didn’t really eat much there because it was all carb loaded stuff that I had knocked off my diet, and I was pretty hungry and planning to eat something healthy when I got home. Anyway, it was pretty dark, and my husband was nodding off in the passenger’s seat. I was drowsy myself honestly. We were pretty close to home, and the roads were mostly empty, since we’d stayed so late to help cleanup. My daughter, she was out when we left so we’d just buckled her in and I’d driven since my husband had so much of the punch, which I stayed away from because all of that sugar. Anyway, I was slowing to turn onto my street when I heard this kind of whispering in the back seat and then my daughter made this gurgling sound that was half between a laugh and a choking noise. I glanced in the mirror to check on things and I swear I almost slammed the brakes. There was this kid, a boy maybe seven or eight, sitting buckled in the middle by her car seat. He had olive skin and this white hair that came down over his ears. He had his hands on my baby’s head and was just whispering at her ear. I couldn’t tell what he was saying, just a stream of whispering nonsense, but her eyes were open wide and she had this smile on her face. The boy looked at me and I had to look away. I hit the brake, and threw the car into park. I turned around fast not really knowing what I’d do, but there was no kid there at all. Just my baby looking at me, her eyes shining. My husband jerked his head up and asked me why we were stopped in the middle of the highway. I’d told him about the kid in the back. He’d turned and looked back there and told me there wasn’t anyone there but our kid. He said maybe I’d been seeing things being as tired as I was. And I tried to shake it off, really, but it’s been bugging me. It all seemed so real. My question is if low carb intake can cause hallucinations, especially one’s this vivid. Should I go see a dietician?0 -
It's never bad to go over on protein, you wont become the hulk. but muscles are made up of protein, therefore you need to eat it, even women. because muscle burns fat. and thats always the goal isn't it?0

I never heard of hallucinations from low carb - put it down to tiredness/dreaming or angels?!0
