I'd like to say hello and make some friends!
So, I have been using MFP for about 4 months now but this is my first venture into the community. First, a little about myself: I am 27, female, and am a very active person. I do martial arts and dance several times each week but I still have a general sense of displeasure about my body image. In other words; I am fit but I would like more tone and definition. I am looking to lose about 10-15 pounds but am more concerned with a lean looking physique. When I first started tracking calories, they were flying off! However, after a few months of 1200 calories a day, I stopped losing. This new year I resolved to cut my consumption of processed foods and simple carbs and up my protein (I'm a vegetarian). I also recently (2 weeks ago) began Insanity hoping to kick start myself out of the plateau. Well, after starting Insanity I feel faster, leaner, and stronger but I have actually gained 2 pounds...eek!
This brings me to today. I am deciding to go against my gut and up my calories to the Insanity recommendation (1500 ish). This is scary for me because 1) you are always taught eat less=lose more and 2) sometimes I just feel full and don't want to eat anymore. I am joining the community for support, motivation, and to keep myself accountable. Be my friend?:flowerforyou:
