MFP's Calorie Counter

For those who pay a lot of attention to food labels... How accurate do you find the calorie counter?

I know that things differ from one to another, but there are certain basic ingredients that should have certain numbers but I'm seeing quite a lot of numbers that seem to be off. I'm seriously wondering about the accuracy about lots of stuff, which bums me out because I'm trying to figure out my daily intake.

What do you guys think? And what do you think is the best calorie counter out there?

The majority of the entries are entered by other MFP users, and they aren't always accurate. Some things vary by brand, region, or the manufacturer changes something so the nutrition facts change.

Just always double check what you're logging against the label, and try to find the one that is correct. There's a way to confirm that it is, which is helpful for other members looking for the same thing. If it's incorrect, you can say so and it gives you the option to edit the information. Tedious, but at least it's doable.

If it's something you use often, you'll find the item shows up in your frequent/recent foods, so it makes it easier to find in the future.
