pedometer issues

So I just started wearing a pedometer. I work in a restaurant 2 days a week and wanted to see how many calories I burn. How exactly do you convert the steps into calories and then plug it in on mfp? Currently I have been googling it then inserting the exercise manually but it seems like I am burning to many calories. For instance one night on a 3hr shift i took about 10,000 steps and it said I burned 501...just seems way to high
