I guess Planet Fitness revoked someone's membership for ongoing cell phone use. Thoughts?

I work out at PF and I find it annoying when people are yappin' on the phone working out, especially if they're sitting on a piece of equipment that I want to use talking on the phone, or to someone else for that matter.
That said, I would not revoke someone's membership for talking on the phone here or there. It's just bad business. But if the person is known to walk around talking on the phone, I'd drop them for sure. For the same reasons in the article.0 -
I don't talk on my cell phone at PF. I double check my calorie count for the day in the MFP app, Check in to Yelp and Foursquare (after all I'm the Duke and Mayor of my PF and I have a 60 week streak to keep up), and then start my music going. Talking doesn't happen, I don't answer texts (but read them in case my wife needs something).
I don't talk on my cell phone on the gym floor. If I got an important call, I would remove myself from the floor to take it or call back if I didn't get to it in time.
My PF is pretty laid back about this though, at least when I am usually there after 9:00pm0 -
Sorry I agree with it. Article states she had a horrible history with the use and it wasn't a onetime deal. Talking excessively on the gym floor on your phone is not safe, it's distracting and rude to others who are possibly waiting for equipment or are trying to concentrate lifting actual stuff. I don't care who was on the other line, it can wait or take it outside. There was someone recently like this at our gym who spoke so loud you can hear him in the bathrooms far away and it was beyond annoyance and distracting; many of us complained.0

It's called membership because it's their club, their rules.
Gyms are allowed to not allow men to become members for instance.0 -
I don't see why folks can't take their calls away from the action just like you would (I hope) if you were in a restaurant. The gym says she was a repeat offender so good on them for doing this.0
