Just curious if anyone else has this. Do you just go to the gym or do some light core stuff?

I tend to workout 6 and rest on Mondays, however yesterday for whatever reason I really wanted to workout.

Yes, I feel that way, but I make myself rest. I might go for a long walk or hike, but I know that going without rest days is bad for me. Resting one day is a lot easier than resting 6-8 weeks with a stress fracture. :grumble:

If I feel really restless, I go for a walk.

I get like this too. Like majope, I go for a walk. However, if the urge really, really is bad I will work out - but I will draw a line (or at least get someone to make me see sense) if I am aching from a previous work out and select a different rest day for the week.

On a few occasions, yeah. On those occasions, I've gone for a long walk, light jog or done yoga/pilates. If you feel motivated and are sure you wont over do it, why not?

I do an easy cardio on "rest" days. It gets my heart up, but doesn't stress my muscles. If I start having issues with my joints, I will spend my rest day in the recliner with a book and a cat. Not much can convince me to get up if I have a book and a cat.

I definitely get that way. I will take a scenic walk or a nice, leisurely bike ride.

LOL Cats will make you lazy! Mine always catnaps me on the weekends and I feel horrible if I have to make her get up. :)

I generally do something light on my rest days. Relaxing yoga. . . or I made a YouTube list of Warm Up and Cool Down Zumba routines that are relatively low key, and I'll do that for 20-30 minutes.

It's tooooooo cold here to just walk :P

And I did some yoga on Sunday for the the first time in a long time...THAT IS NOT RELAXING. By the time I was finished I thought I was going to pass out  I think I would honestly rather run for 2 hours and do yoga for 1.

Yoga on rest day seems like a great idea. I always thought of yoga as boring, but I guess I did not really know what it all was about. I started downloading a bunch of beginner vids, see what comes of it. Thanks for the tip.

You could just go for a nice leisurely walk or do something low impact - that way you feel like you're doing something but not so much that you might cause injury!

Here's a guide to various yoga styles:

    http://yoga.about.com/od/typesofyoga/a/yogatypes.htm
    http://www.yogamovement.com/resources/styles.html
    http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/info/yoga-styles.asp

The best thing to do is read the description of the yoga practice. And Ashtanga, Bikram, and Power Yoga are always more strenuous. :)
