Diabetes & Exercise

Hey all: First off, I apologize if this question has been asked before.
I am Type 2 diabetic and measure my sugars once a day, as i have them pretty well under control. I measure first thing in the morning. Lately, I have been doing the EA Active 30 day challenge for the Wii and measuring my sugars afterwards. They are astronomical (this morning was 10.1). Is it better to do my glucose test first and then exercise? My levels are usually around 7.6 first thing in the morning. This seems a little backwards to me.
Please help.
Thank you all,
jewel :flowerforyou:

I'm a diabetic too. It's normal to experience a spike in sugars post exercise. The body kind of freaks out "What are you doing to me!" but then calms down. I would test an hour after working out. You should notice it lower by then. If you plan it so that you eat 2 hours after your workout, you could kill two birds with one stone and do post workout/pre-meal sugar
