AWESOME Gym NSV!

Got one of the coolest psuedo-compliments of my life! My brother and I were working out at the gym a couple of nights ago and I was running on a treadmill while he worked out on an elliptical a couple rows back when a woman and her personal trainer walk up to a bank of treadmills right in front of his elliptical and a few rows away from mine. They're doing fine until the trainer tells her to bump her speed up to a 6 and start jogging.

She balks at this and tells the trainer that she doesn't like running and that she's too heavy. The personal trainer looks at her then jerks his head over towards me and says "That girl probably has you by 30lbs and she's over there tearing it up. If she can do it then you have no excuse" My brother hears this but doesn't say anything for a couple of days until my sister approaches me and tells me what he had told her about this. He didn't want to say anything to me about it because although he took it as a compliment he wasn't sure I would. I'm so glad my sister told me because that is one of the COOLEST compliments I've ever gotten! Especially because it wasn't something said directly to me which makes it almost more awesome and sincere!

I'm going back to the gym tonight and I look forward to tearing it up :D

Wow! I absolutely hate running myself and I'm starting off slow. I can no do 20 minutes on 5mph I want to see if I can bump it up to 30 min and then eventually an hour. Only then will I hit up the speed.

    Good Luck!

That's awesome! I can totally see why your brother would worry about how you'd take it and that's sweet of him, but it's most definitely an NSV...way to be an example!

That's great! I still feel like a 'poser' at the gym. Can't wait until I feel like I belong there, let alone something like this. Congrats!
