It's tough, but I always feel better after.0

it's motivation that's lacking on time of the month with me u___u0
-
Nope. You're the only special snowflake that this happens too.0
-
It's just you. You're a special snowflake.
Yay! Snowflakes!0 -
I don't find it tough but I find myself more agitated when I work out, more swears being mutter under my breath and feeling like throwing my weights to the ground like a touch down before saying something like "BOOYA!" or the like.0

Someone on my friends feed asked that question yesterday! Sometimes when I have PMS, I feel like I'm slogging through my day and everything seems tougher!0

This ^^
But I find that ab workouts feel good, espically the stretches afterwards to help with cramps.
Also, some kickboxing helps to get some of your anger out if you are a moody girl.0 -
The only PMS symptom I have is bloating. I almost never have cramps. It's just that when I run I feel like I am a ton heavier and I just can't jump on the treadmill like I'd usually do.0

only took the 3rd reply for a *****y response. congrats mfp, new record :flowerforyou:
anyway...i find im more motivated? possibly cos i feel all bloated and nasty0 -
I think it is harder to find motivation to actually get to the gym but it always makes me feel better afterwards (especially if I have cramps or bloating)0

That is such a Snowflake thing to say.0 -
I struggle when I am on my period but mine are very heavy and painful! I find doing yoga though makes me feel a million times better. I have done yoga many times with painful periods and by the end the pain is gone! Then I do a more vigorous workout but I tend not to bust my balls as much when I am on my period =P0

I find it harder during my period. I feel gross and am exhausted. Sometimes I can't even run a mile.0
-
I find it tough. It's hard to get started once I push through and just keep running the next mile or two are easy. I feel much better and less bloated after though!!0
-
no its not just you. I have the same issue as well. I do the best I can do.0
-
its just you, no troubles here0
-
Opposite for me actually. Working out prevents my cramps.0
-
I think the getting started part is much harder with pms!!! But yes, I feel much better after!!0
-
It doesn't always make me feel better. Sometimes it will make my cramping worse0

I have terrible fatigue during that time. Like, so bad that when I am normally the lightest sleeper on the planet that I can even hear my kiddo crying at night. It seriously just knocks me out. So yeah, it's hard for me during that time because even when I get started in an exercise I feel like I've been hit by a truck.0

Its actually the best time for me, cause it helps so much with the cramps.. plus i feel like i dont get bloated if i up my intensity during that time0
-
I think it's because you need more calories for energy. The loss of blood and iron is probably hard on the body. I've noticed that if I don't eat enough calories, then my workouts are weak and "hard". When I'm fueled, they are fun, fast and easy!0

Sometimes I really just can't Go by what you feel0
-
It ain just you... I'm the same and it is a nightmare tbh hun. They are goin to be rest days for me (only started today) but this I plan already haha0

I find it difficult to do something other than down medicine, eat and watch movies while curled up in bed.
So, yes. Yes it is.0 -
Tough, yes. But not impossible.
I agree that exercising under tough situations (PMS, first trimester nausea, third trimester fatigue, postpartum lack of sleep, working 12 hr night shifts, with a houseful of small children, etc., etc.) makes one feel better and gives much needed energy. And when all is said and done, it makes the victory that much sweeter.
At the same time...if you drag yourself through your workout and it doesn't make you feel better *afterward*, and especially if it makes you feel worse, don't feel guilty about skipping! We all need rest days sometimes, too.0 -

I so want a punching bag for tom... and yes I agree with the rest.0 -
I was able to do weights but no cardo. i almost passed out in spin class, so I left after only 5 mins. my cycles seem to be getting worse the older I get...0

So, yes. Yes it is.
exactly. include cats and i'm right there with you.
i have pms right now, it sucks, and this morning with trainer i felt nauseated. but i kept going (didn't say a word) and got a great workout (he's awesome) and felt great afterward.
now i'm writing this while curled under a blanket, resting before a boring conference call. so cozy.
So, yes - it's harder.
I found this thread by searching for "pms" because I was coming to the boards to ask about pms and weigh-ins. 5 lbs water weight?0 -
It's tough, but as soon as my weight goes up due to hormones, I stop weighing in. And then I set a goal to drop 0.5-1lb before my cycle is half over and I get back on the scale, so that tends to motivate me enough to get up and work through it. And it really does make me feel better and give me more energy.0
