Why can you only have 24g a day? Unless you are diabetic or have been told by a doctor to limit your carbs, don't worry about it. Weight loss is calories in versus calories out. Yes, things higher in carbs tend to be higher in calories as well, but so long as your calories are in your limits, go ahead and eat the sweets.
Set aside some calories each day for a sweet snack, if you can have some without going all out. The idea is to learn moderation. If you can't eat some sweets without having a total binge, then avoid them for a while until you get it under control. Also, try fruits, since they are sweet.0 -
First of all, I wouldn't worry about the natural sugars in fruit (unless you have diabetes or something). Enjoy them!
Save something really special for the end of the day as a reward for staying on track the rest of the day. (I like to have one piece of dark chocolate or some kind of frozen dessert, currently yogurt and fruit bars.)0 -
I'm with you! I have a horrid sweet tooth, and I'm limiting my intake too, because too much sugar is just not healthy, and 24 grams a day is the recommended amount. I've been watching my sugar for about 2 weeks now. It's hard. I'm only allowing my sugars to come from fruit for the most part, no candy/ice cream/etc. I just wanted to let you know, it does get easier! I've always had a sweet tooth, and after about a week of no processed sugars I find I'm not craving it like I used to! So stick with it! You can do it!0

Sometimes I just have to tear a sour pickle up! It seems to work when I'm wanting something sweet to help me curb it.0

Honestly, I can't think of any desserts that don't have artificial sweeteners or substitutes for sugar in them that don't greatly exceed 24g of sugar.
If you do have diabetes or if it's medically ordered that you don't have more sugar than that, I suggest just giving the sugar free stuff a chance.
Personally, I don't eat anything with added sugar (unless it has a fake sweetener in it,) but if I'm feeling the need I enjoy sugar free pudding mixed with heavy whipping cream. A nice portion is like 8g of the mix, and 1/4 of the cream - it comes to like 6 carbs, & 0 sugar (because of the artificial stuff in it.) I think it was in the neighbor hood of 400 cals tho - worth every calorie though lol, and it was plenty sweet.
You could even try a low gi protein bar or something; Some of them are very tasty! Although, I tend not to eat them anymore because they stall my weight loss.0 -
Do you drink soda or diet soda? I have lived with a killer sweet tooth all my life. My doc told me that if I quit the pop then my sweet tooth would go away. I thought she was full of ......well never mind what I thought she was full of but SHE WAS RIGHT!!!!! I haven't had pop for around a year now and my sweet tooth quit in about a week! It was a miracle and was my lifesaver this time around with changing how I eat!0

I have been known to put 3 tablespoons worth of Chocolate chips in a ziploc and have that be my allotted chocolate for the day.0

Thanks!
Usually I don't get compliments on just *one* tooth, but hey, I take what I can get!0 -
Beat three egg whites into merengue with a few packets of table sugar and some vanilla. You get a big huge bowl of sweet yumminess for very few calories and within your sugar goal.0

The Fiber One Coconut Almond chewy protein bar tastes like an Almond Joy and only has 7g of sugar! Great filling snack that tastes like a candy bar. (And for the record I am not one to like fake chocolatey things and definitely hate ANY sugar substitute).0

Don't bother to keep a track on my sugar, everything in moderation. I like to have some dark chocolate each evening, or a 9 bar, which is a mix of seeds and honey, and each evening my dessert is a bowl of plain greek style yoghurt with stevia, agave, flax and some oatmeal mixed in, left in the fridge to thicken up. Sure, it still has some sugar, in thew agave, but I have been having this for a year now.0

Well, I'm not diabetic (from what I know) and my sugar intake is low because I'm down to the final 1200 calories a day. But I have an issue with juice which contains a lot of high fructose corn syrup. That's my biggest issue. And I sometimes like to eat cake and pastries. -_-
But these are really good tips.0
