Wetting the Polar ft4

Ok, I can barely read the tiny print in the manual. I am guessing that the part you wet would be the part against your skin. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and didn't find what I was looking for.

You wet the 2 patches on the chest strap0

Depends on what kind of strap you have.
If you have the kind with mesh on the back, yes, wet the part that goes against the skin.
If you have the kind with elastic on the top and rubber on the back, wet the elastic on the top of the plastic.
Hope that makes sense. I've had both kinds of straps and I've found that's what works best.0 -
Yeah, it is one long strip of rubber type stuff. Thanks!0

I have the rubber strap and in the instruction manual it says to wet the 'electrode area', the rubber bit that sits against your skin, so thats what I do. I literally run that whole bit under running water.0

It was really useless to wet it before putting it on, as the water just rolled right off. So, I put it on, got it tucked under my bra and then wet my fingers and slid them under the strap, rubbed back and forth etc. Worked fine.0
