So I just watched this video on Youtube, and it was actually rather intriguing:

Basically this guy asks the question: Are nutrition labels really accurate?

He takes a couple of everyday food items and does his own tests on them. He acknowledges that obviously its not a conclusive study, but it was still rather interesting to see just how inaccurate some of the nutrition info is for certain foods. Your thoughts?

    Thanks for sharing
That was very informative. I had guessed that the nutrition info would be a close estimate. But I didn't know that although they are required they aren't verified. I think when we buy prepared food we can always assume that there's more calories in the food than we think there is.

And 1175 calories for a Chipotle burrito!
And 734.7 calories for a muffin?!
    Wow!

Yup always off by something. I always try to leave some in the bank just for that. I wish he would have done more prepackaged things. I knew the sandwich was going to be WAY off, a slice of bread ~100 cals x2 = ~200 so the filling would have been something like 28 cals. No way.

I recently made a rule for myself, If I eat out I must work out. I don’t count anything for lifting, and I have been subtracting the same 400 cals for a half hour of elliptical since I started, even though I have upped the resistance and the speed. With those factors I feel ok grabbing chipotle or anything else that a human puts together.
