Beginner

I am new to exercising and dieting. I have no clue what I am doing; I have had three children in the past six years and am now trying to loose the extra weight. I eat between 1200 to 1400 calories a day and work out about 4 hours a week. However, the only thing my weight has done is jump back and forth 1 pound. Someone please help me, I think I am doing this wrong.
