Gaining inches?!

I just finished 30 Day Shred and I lost 16 inches total, YAY. But I do have a couple measurements where I gained. Mainly in the belly area. I also noticed today that I am losing fat in my stomach and its causing it to look very strange. Is it possible that the gain in inches in because of a fat loss and shift of the remainder of fat. Does that make any sense? Like my belly button is in a different spot now that where I originally measured.

    Overall loss is overall loss.

Your belly button has not migrated.

Maybe the smallest part of your waist is now in a different spot, is that what you meant? Anyhow, THAT is where you measure. Not where your belly button is.

So...I can't really speak as to the location of your belly button. But, actually, yeah. Things can shift in a way that make some things measure out larger even though you've lost pounds/gained muscle. It happens to me because of the way I carry fat in my stomach (god, this sounds hot already...*sigh*).

When my stomach muscles tighten and the fat reduces, things...lift? And so what was droopy is now lifted, causing my measurements to not necessarily go down but to shift up.

For those of you not packing that much weight to start, picture a backpack really loaded down but not cinched up, then take out some weight but also tighten up the shoulder straps. Your load is smaller, but the weight is carried a bit higher now.

I'm not sure I did a better job explaining it than you did  but if that's what you were you getting at...it can happen.

YES this is what I mean. I"m not gonna try to explain any further because I will just make it more confusing LOL. Thank you winterswish for making it into something maybe people will understand. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't imagining it or measuring wrong somehow.
