Extra exercise didn't help-what the heck?

I totaled my cals for the day and found I was over by 224.I thought, I have time, I'll do a little extra exercise. I hopped on the treadmill and felt burnt out after 131 cals burned but I figured it was better than nothing.

BUT when I entered it onto the website, it only reduced the over amount to 197! What?

Any idea what is going on here?

BTW, I use a fitbit zip to track steps and it gives me an adjustment for actual steps taken.

Where did you get the 131 calorie burn information from? From the treadmill read out? If so, then it's probably inaccurate. How many minutes did you work out and what speed?
