Running for...

Over weight people like me..i want to loose about 100 pounds ..is running bad if u r this over weight and yes i heard about the couch to 5k program ...i heard running is a good way to lose weight ALSO does any1 have any tips for me with breathing and just tips in general for me as just first starting out???

side note i was in shape back in the day and also was on the track team in HS and the swim team...but swimming seems great i can breath at swimming but NOT at track..plz help me??
