Help! What should I do??? -FITNESS CLASSES

Should I buy a 1 month unlimited pass for fitness classes @ a new studio... or a 3 month unlimited pass? I'VE never TRIED this studio before and the deal ends in four days... won't have time to try out a class!! what are your opinions MFP?

It's $49 for 1 month OR $99 for 3 months.

Clearly the 3 month pass is the better deal.. but like I said I have never tried out the fitness classes @ the studio.. so I'm not sure if it'll be something I want to do in the long term. This studio is also a 35-40 min drive from my house if that makes a difference.

At the same time I'm nowhere near my fitness goals!! Should I just take the risk and get the 3 month pass?? or try one month.. in hopes it'll motivate me to do my regular exercises at home. Also buying additional classes isn't an option for me b/c the prices run very high without the deal.

What would you do? I need advice!

Ask if maybe you can take or watch ONE class to see if you like it. I wouldn't pay even $49 for something sight-unseen...

Neither, the distance from the house is too far. Go buy a couple of videos and do them in your living room.

it is WAY too far. Studies after studies have shown that one of the biggest factors about adherence to a fitness regimes how well it fits into someone daily life and how much of an efffort it is to get there. I say forget it. Work out at home, or run outside near your home, or join a closer gym. Gym should be close to home or to work or just on your way to home.

I would not pay for membership at a gym i had not worked out at. I have been in some that when you walk in you want to walk out again. If this 1 makes u feel like that its $49 or $99 down the pan. Personally i would use the money to buy a cross trainer, exercise bike and or some dumbells and save the petrol money too. 45 mins each way can't be cheap in the long term. Plus summer is coming (depending on where u are) The outdoors is the best gym ever. Running/ walking is free!

Agreed. For me, at least, I would use the distance as an excuse for not actually using the pass.

I'd say go with the one month deal. It's new to you, you don't know if you'll like the place, or if it's a good fit for 'you'. If you like it, you can re-up after the month.. you may pay more, but at that point, you'll know if it's something you can commit to without question and can certainly justify the cost. Hope this helps! :)
