I keep track of all my calories and food daily, but my problem is the last week and a half ive been actually going over my protein. MFP recommends 56g of protein for me and I have been going a bit over, like 10-15g over. I was struggling to meet the protein recommendations before and now that I adjusted my diet a bit i have been reaching them and sometimes going over -.-. I feel like this is causing me to gain? I am very frustrated because despite daily cardio/strength training and sticking to 1480 calories like recommended, I have actually gained 2 lbs these last 2 weeks (I was losing more steadily before). I mean I just dont know if its muscle as I have been feeling more muscles in my arms and legs.. or if the excess protein is just making me gain? what is the effects of too much protein?

Hi,
If you workout daily and taking in 66g - 70g of protein a day it is definitely not too low. Many sites recommend you take in 1g of protein per lb of LBM.
I workout daily and eat anywhere between 110 - 150g of protein per day. My macros are set as 40/30/30 carbs/fat/protein.
If you have only just started training it is possible that you have gained some muscle, could also be water retention....
Your diary is closed so can't really take a look at what you are eating.
Maybe put it open and people can take a further look into it.
Good luck0
