Hi

Feeling so prod of myself today made my own Almond Milk & Almond Butter. Both were so stupidly easy to make and taste way better than any store bought stuff....

Anyone know how to work out calories in homemade almond milk??

Thanks x

It depends on your recipe, and if you strain or don't strain. I use 1 cup almonds and 5 cups water, and then strain through a nut milk bag. According to a cookbook I use, that ends up to be about 70 calories per cup for the final strained product. ( I also save the almond pulp, dry it and use it as almond flour for baking).

Edited to Add - Isn't is amazing the taste difference between homemade and the store bought stuff? Not even close!!! Also, tip - to make it last a little longer, add a tad bit of lemon juice, you won't taste it and it will make it last another day.
