Congrats on graduation. Great feeling, eh?

My method was to go back to Week 5 - that first 20 minute run with no intervals - and increase the speed there. Then I basically repeated the workouts from that point on with the higher speed. Worked a charm, and I actually skipped week 8 altogether and went straight from the 25 minute run to the 30 minute run.

congratulations! That is a great feeling. As far as improving time, I did some HIIT and found that helped me drop my 5k time from about 31 mins to about 27 mins. Keep it up!

Congratulations! I know it's a lot of work and effort to do a c25k program (I am on week 4 right now). Thank you for providing inspiration to me to keep on going.

Awesome idea!! I should try that. Thank you.

yes, I am also planning to incorporate HIIT. What specific HIIT did you do? Do you have any recommendations?

    You ROCK!

I'm so close to being able to do that that I can taste it, but I haven't managed to grab that golden ring yet. I'm amazed at how much my speed has automatically increased after C25k - and how FUN running is getting. NEVER expected that one.

I started c25k in January and went from week 6 to a 5K last Saturday! I was so proud of myself and finished in 39 minutes. I would love to do in 30...good for you!

I've just finished week 1 this morning. I have a question. After each week, do you then have a two day break during the weekend, or do you just keep going out every second day? Like this week I went out sunday, tuesday, and thursday(today), so do I then wait until saturday or two days until sunday?

Some people find it easier to have habitual "run days" in their schedule. I had Thursday as a regular day and then fit another 2 days in during the week when I could schedule them. Some weeks, I did every other day. It really depends on what works for you and what your body responds to, as long as you get at least one rest day between sessions.

You also might want to join the Couch to 5k group on MFP for extra motivation and support.

As vardaeml says, I think it's a matter of personal preference.

My schedule is to run MWF, then do weight lifting TuThSa, and rest on Sundays.

I can't imagine any reason not to do every other day, so long as it works with your schedule. I do recommend fitting some form of resistance training in there somewhere, however.

That's brilliant - well done!! A 30 min 5K is in the distant dreams for me for now... I'm very slow and steady ... which apparently wins the race? Just not any race I've ever entered ;)

    Congrats, that's awesome!
5k in 30 is one of my goals, too. I'm still about 2 minutes off that time. I'm also working on 10K in an hour. I've got 6 minutes to go on that one.
