" Net " explanation

I have read lots of posts, but I want to make sure that I am getting it correct.
This is what I think I understand so far: (bare with me )
So my baseline daily calorie burned is 2200. I want to lose 2lbs per week so I need a 1000 calorie deficit. My net calories consumed (before extra calories burned) is then 1200. If I go above my 2200 expected calories burned by doing exercise then the difference between the greater number of calories burned - 2200 expected to earn will be added to how many net calories I can eat for the day (say burned 2300 for the day, 2300-2200=100 calories extra burned so 1200+100= 1300 net calories I can eat)
This is correct so far right?
OK, if so, then what is MFP trying to show me on my home page where it has the table
Remaining
Goal Food Exercise = Net
Goal = daily net calories (if my "baseline calories burned" is what is predicted based on my height and weight and activity level I put in when I set up the MFP this number will be the same number as the goal number of net calories saved to the goal page )
Food = number of calories consumed for the day
Exercise= how many extra calories you have earned for the day to be added to what you have to the "goal" amount
Net =? ???
I just don't see where this number comes from. Please help.
For today:
Remaining: 263
Goal Food Exercise = Net
1200 1329 -392 937
What does the NET mean? :grumble: :sad:

No. If your budget on MFP is set to 1200 that already has your 1000 calorie deficit built in. If you do 500 calories of exercise, MFP deducts that from your budget, 1200 - 500 = 700 net. MFP expects you to eat back those 500 to bring your Net back up to the 1200. The intial 2200 that you calculated has nothing to do with the calculations .0
