Sugar Allotment

I'm not for sure what the average daily total is for sugar allotment. MyFitnessPal had mine at 35, which I matched during breakfast with 12 Ounces of Milk and a Banana. Why is this so low? Are we not supposed to count the sugar from things like milk and fruits? I have since raised mine to 85. I would like to hear others thoughts on this.

Don't worry about sugar too much if it's coming from natural sources (not added sugar). The sugar allotment is quite low. I don't pay much attention to it, but I try not to go way way over.

I've been wondering the same thing.........I tend to eat a lot of fresh fruit which apparently is high in sugar. I'm over the allotted amount daily. Thanks for asking this question.

Unless you are diabetic or otherwise medically constrained with sugars, just turn it off; any carb that isn't fiber is sugar. If you find yourself craving sweet things or starchy carbs, then you need to cut down. Your body will tell you how much sugar is too much.

I'm glad I searched this subject. I am new and was wondering the same thing. I think the software is tracking calories from the sugar rather than the grams.
