I started my lifestyle change 2 years ago at 179 (and 5"1') It has been a long journey but have enjoyed every bit of it. I have about 10-12 left to lose and MFP has been a huge help in my calorie intake I wish you all the luck and can tell you that it is possible even when it feels impossible!0

In 2009 I lost 10lbs but then got pregnant. During my pregnancy I exercised at the gym once a week. When I had my little man I was down to about 168 after the first 3 months. I did WebMD's version of calorie counting for about a half a year and then found MFP. I was able to lose 30pd but this took about 3yrs. It's a journey not a race and you need to make it a life style change. I've cut back on portion sizes and try to get some movement in my life (ie walking, exercising at home).
