Since starting MFP I have noticed myself really turning my nose up at certain foods that I used to love and actually eating and liking food I used to hate!
I was just watching the TV and an advert came on with a bacon and sausage roll with tomato ketchup, now pre-MFP I would have gone "Oh YES! I will have me one of those!" but today I looked at it and pulled a face like someone had farted! LOL.
Last night I had a stir fry which had loads of veggies in, I would have never eaten it before, but I actually looked at it, and looked forward to it.T'was yummy!
I am not complaining, I love the fact I am seeing food differently... Has anyone else experienced this?
I really wish DH would bee the same, but he is so fussy!

Great! All those people who say they hate all healthy food need to read this! Your taste buds really do change over time when you eat healthy food - before you know it those foods you used to be able to not live without don't taste so good and you actually start to crave those yucky veggies and other healthy eats! :drinker:0

Best feeling! I probably wouldn't even eat chinese food at this point because I don't crave it like I used to. That stuff just doesn't sound appealing to me anymore!0

We need a "like" button on here LOL!
I can't eat Chinese food anymore, since having my children, it makes me so ill. I eat it and about 4-6 hours later, without fail I am violently ill... only the once and then feel OK.0 -
I find the same thing but I was putting it down to my hypnotherapy treatment (which I needed to kick start losing weight), maybe it's more than that. I find myself walking past packets of potato crisps in shops which previously I would always have picked one up for a snack on the way home, in the car, in the office, etc, but now I don't even think about it other than noticing my changed feelings. I have the occasional piece of chocolate (when I started I had a big bar in the fridge, nearly gone) but I do find it very sweet now. I also find eating smaller helpings comes naturally and they fill me up as the bigger ones used to do. I notice it most when I eat out (which I do a lot due to business travel and entertainment) but find my menu choices changing to the healthier side which I am actually enjoying as much as I used to enjoy the unhealthy ones. I don't eat anything like as much salt as before. There's no doubt about it, a lifestyle change encompasses a change to your way of thinking around food and you do re-educate your taste buds.0

There's nothing wrong with Chinese food, it's the takeaway and a lot of restaurant stuff that tends to be full of fat, salt and monosodium glutamate. Properly cooked, a stir fry is very healthy, the vegetables, of which there should be plenty, are not cooked to death and still have that 'bite' and their basis is the aromatics, garlic and ginger, both of which are supposed to be good for health. A lot of chinese food is steamed, can't get better than that!0 -

It was just an example. When I would get chinese food it would be the baaad stuff. So that and fast food and whatnot I just don't crave it anymore. Stirfry and steamed stuff would be yummy!0 -
If that's how you view it now, then cool. The problem that I find is that people who adopt "clean" eating as a way of life become very critical or intolerant of those who don't eat the way.
I would encourage you to not to criticize those who don't care to eat this way or tell them what to eat.
Personally myself, I eat junk food a couple of times a week and sometimes listen to the garble from my unfit, lanky friend telling me I'm "poisoning" myself.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes. At the very beginning. I was pretty much orthoexic for a little while there. But I came around. :glasses:0 -

Oh don't get me wrong, I do still "fancy" some foods, especially opinion rings, chocolate and ice cream. I was just really noticing that some of the things I used to love, turn my stomach, and foods that used to turn my stomach I am actually liking.
Also, I would never give advice about what foods to eat, or exercise to do, I am not trained to, so I won't LOL.0
