Workouts and Eating

I started the C25K program last week and am LOVING it! When I get done though I am beyond starving. Is it okay to eat right after a work out? Is it better to eat before? Should I wait a certain amount of time? Any snack ideas?
Sorry for the million questions. Thanks for any information you can give me!

You SHOULD eat as soon as you can after a work out (within minutes and no more than a half hour after). I eat a greek yogurt, drink a protein shake or eat cottage cheese within minutes after working out. Your muscles need the protein and your body needs the fuel for recovery.
I also eat a snack before (yogurt, shake, kashi go lean bar, etc)----Usually falls during my afternoon snack. I can't workout hungry.0 -
I eat within half an hour of my morning workouts ~ my stomach is usually growling loudly by the time I finish!!
best of luck!!0 -
I love peanut butter and a banana after a workout. It feels like a reward, and the protein is good for you.0
