Exercising while sick?

Hello all! I'm three days into a pretty gnarly headcold (headache, stuffiness, fatigue, generally feeling icky), but I've finally reached the point where if I go that long without working out I start to feel antsy... is it okay to get in a good cardio workout while I'm still sick? The only real exercise guidance I've ever had is from my old high school gym teacher, who would make us sit out if we had the sniffles.

How do you feel? I know I felt sort of crappy, workoed out, felt worse, took two or three days off, went back to a work out and probably could've waited another day. I know it sucks, but start slow and see how you feel.

In my opinion, you should rest. I completely understand being antsy, but if you strain your body you could end up being sick longer. Maybe just go for a long walk outdoors :) fresh air could help anyway. Then come home to a nice cup of hot tea :) chammomile should help you feel less antsy. Hope that helps :) Feel better soon!

When I want to do "something" when I'm sick .... I do some light hatha (stretching) type yoga ... steer clear of workouts labeled "power or fat burning" yoga for now. The yoga is good for building (or maintaining) flexibility ..... no it doesn't burn many calories ... but it's good for me.
