Hey all I just signed up for the Warrior Dash in my area. Besides running is there a good way to get into good shape for this? I already lift 3x per week and do cardio the other 3. Any help appreciated :)

I signed up for my first one this year too...the warrior dash website has various training plans

EDIT...sorry, that link doesn't have much now that I looked (it used to have various plans depending on your goals).

Anyway, I've been advised to really focus on upper body strength for getting through the obstacles....and things like crawling on the ground under things....etc...

    Good luck to you!

Did my first one last year. Same as you, I concentrated on weight lifting, really focusing on upper strength to pull myself up, over and through things. The obstacles were easier than I expected, though some said the opposite. The first obstacle is a mile out so that's the furthest you run at once (some people walked the whole thing). The obstacles are then a quarter mile apart so you get to stop running quite often after that. It was so much fun and there were people helping people through obstacles that didn't know each other. It was truly an amazing experience. I'm signed up for the one in my area again in June and I can't wait! Good luck but just have fun!
