    My family were terribly disappointed that I did not marry a German. We have been together 16 years and they still have not forgiven him for being Italian or making Italian babies.

    I just wanted someone who was good to me.

    This question made me think of something related. Up north (I come from Long Island) if someone askes you what you were, you'd answer Irish, Italian yadda yadda. I now live in the South. If someone asks you what you are they say Southern. Or call you a yankee.. nothing else matters.

    Husband is filipino, I'm caucasian. My daughters look exactly like him. A couple of times when I was out with just my girls, when they were little, I got asked if they were adopted -- cause they look nothing like me. Didn't bother me in the slightest, since I have 3 nephews that are adopted and I think its wonderful!

    I'd say they play a big role. Because I'm white and white men never look at me. I'm not thin enough or blonde enough. Or whatever. If I didn't date outside of my race, I wouldn't date at all!
