I only have one for zojirushi. I make it several times a week (my toddler has them for breakfast very often).0

yes and we've been eating it every morning for a couple of weeks....however I mix it half and half with quinoa.
The base is: (but I double it up occasionally)
1/2 cup steel cut oats
1/2 cup quinoa (make sure it's rinsed)
1/4 cup of unrefined sugar or honey
1 tsp of cinnamon
2.5 cups of liquid (I usually do half milk and half water).
set crockpot on high for 3-4 hours.
When reheating, I find that adding a bit of water or milk to it makes it nice and creamy. plus we will add a half banana, frozen berries, etc. and it's delicious! Adding a bit of liquid when reheating makes a big difference! You can mix it in after or before.
This last batch I did I added diced apple. It didn't really change the taste at all....you can add whatever you like I'm sure.
I'm going to try this with quinoa and brown rice and make a savory dish with diced chicken, veggies, etc. Trial and error! LOL
Have had to throw out a couple of different recipes, but have found some good stuff in the process....:)0 -

I think if you can get them at the 6-7 hr mark, then they would be okay. I tried overnight and by 8 hours it was a little too mushy. Each crockpot is different though....a small batch might be worth a try.
I do it in the evening and then throw it in a tupperware container in the fridge for the next few mornings.0 -

A high end Japanese rice cooker that can cook a bunch of things, especially grains, perfectly. For steel cut oatmeal, I can set it the night before to be ready at a specific time next morning and it shall be done.0
