Strawberry Pretzel Dessert

There was a luncheon at work today and somebody brought this. I had no idea how they made it so I searched it online. YUM!
Now I need to figure out just how awful it is for a person to eat! Any ideas?

CRUST:
2 c. crushed pretzels (not too fine)
3/4 c. melted butter (Could you use something lighter or different here?)
3 tbsp. sugar
Mix the above ingredients together and form pretzel mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan packing tightly so liquids do not seep through. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool.

TOPPING:
1 c. sugar (Splenda?)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened (reduced fat)
8 oz. Cool Whip (sugar free/fat free)
1 lg. pkg. strawberry Jello (sugar free)
1 (10 oz.) or (16 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries
Beat sugar and cream cheese until blended and smooth. Stir in Cool Whip. Spread on top of pretzel crust and chill. Dissolve Jello in 2 cups of boiling water. Stir in frozen strawberries until dissolved. Let set for 10 minutes. Pour on top and refrigerate until set.

Spread a light layer of Cool Whip over the top. Chill and serve.

Anyone have any ideas on how to tweak this? I added my thoughts above seeing how I've never made it. It was absolutely delicious today though!

How do you figure out the number of calories from a recipe? Is there a website you go to or are you just THAT good?!

I used to love to eat this at church potlucks! It is kind of horrifying to see how bad it actually was, and I would always get a giant slice :/

Sorry I'm old what does bump mean

It is what people use for their post when they want to add a post to their "my topics" by posting and they don't have anything to say, OR if they see a post that is old, so has dropped off the recent post area, and/or is just so good they feel it needs to be "bumped up" to the front so others will see it.

Neufchatel cheese is a substitute for cream cheese. It's similar to American cream cheese but is naturally lower in fat.

wow, on the cals, I didn't look past that part. :noway:

That is some seriously delicious stuff ( the sweet, creamy, salty combo is to die for!) Thanks for calculating the nutrition info. Better to know ahead of time....
