Third time lucky?

I'm Charlie. I'm 20-years-old and am on a year out from college due to medical reasons. I am ok to work out though, don't worry I'm not doing myself any damage here.
This is my third time being on myfitnesspal. I've had accounts before and given up because of a lack of motivation and I just ended up thinking 'why bother?'
But I don't want to be unfit forever. I hate it. It's embarrassing.
I'm not overweight, I just want the weight I have to be more muscular. So I'm starting strength training. I'm a total beginner and admittedly clueless though.
I would love to have friends on here who actually talk rather than just comment and then forget. As much as I want this, I can't just motivate myself. I've struggled with depression and comfort/binge eating, and I still am, though it's less out-of-control than it once was. It's still a big obstacle I'm trying to overcome though. And with working out more, I hope that'll set my focus right. I am really unfit though, and I often compare myself to others which really doesn't help my confidence.
