hi! i started MFP, and exercising in nov. I was completely new to it. I started out doing jillian micheals videos and have now moved on to 30 min on an elliptical. I work out mon to fri and take weekends off and am very commited, very seldom ever missing a workout. I generally enjoy exercising. Somedays 30 min seems like an eternity and im exhausted at the end, and some days it flies by and im surprised at the end cuz it only felt like 5 min. is this normal? to have such flucuations in energy?

Much of your issue is between your ears. You aren't exercising excessively so just keep at it. Maybe change up your cardio to keep your mind fresh. Try some other form of cardio. Ever consider lifting?0

How much you ate the night before, or the hours before you exercise; how much or well you slept; whether you do it at a time of day that makes sense for your body clock.
If I eat well (=enough), I can overcome a lot of the other things.0 -
i can only exercise about an hour after while my baby naps. Any suggestions on food to fuel me on if this is nutrition related? whats a good thing to eat before u exercise?
no, i havent ever really considered lifting, im pretty new to this all. what other cardio can u reccomend? i have no access to a gym and my elliptical is the only machine i own.0 -
Some don't eat at all before exercising. Ingest some Protein about an hour before you exercise. Could be as simply as half/full cup of Cottage cheese and an banana.
1 cup 2% cottage cheese and 120g of banana (regular banana) is less than 300 calories. Provides 20+ grams of protein and carbs.0 -
Try the p90x program, it's roughly an hour per day, each day is different, and includes all types of exercise needed to be toned and healthy.0

In addition to what others have said about food, sleep , etc, recovery periods don't always match our exercise schedules. Often if you struggle through a workout, it just means you haven't quite recovered from the previous one (or two, or three). Perfectly normal.0
