Insanity and no meal plan. HELP!

I got the insanity dvds from a friend who was never going to use them and I wanted to give them a try but she doesnt know what happened to the meal plan or the calender. =( So I searched online for the meal plan and it took me to this website, somebody posted how to calculate how many calories you should eat while on insanity. Im 24 years old, 5'2, 156lbs. and other then insanity I dont do much. So I calculated all that and multiplied that by 1.55 and subtracted it by 500. It came out to 1,849! That seems like wayy to many calories for me to lose weight! I feel like if I eat that much i'm only going to gain. Is my math off? And I started to drink a protein shake after my workout but I read that drinking protein shakes can make you bulky or fatter especially in the tummy area. So, i dont know what to do belly fat is what I really need to get rid of but I want to build muscle and not bulk up. Please help I read one thing then read something else that says the complete opposite.
