glute exercise that doesn't work the thigh

Hi, does anyone know of glute exercises or lifting techniques that WON'T engage the backs of my thighs?

My thighs are sore from the last lifting session (Wed) and with all the running I do they are starting to look at like a sprinter's thighs (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'd like the rest of my body to catch up so I'm not a flabby girl with huge bulgy thighs. Thanks!
