Yesterday I went to the gym and as always I went on the elliptical machine for 20 mins, after about 15 mins I started to feel a small pain in my foot, (hardheaded as I am I continued my whole work out) when getting of the machine after 20 mins the pain was really bad. The pain in on the outter middle bottom part of the foot. When I sleep at night and get up to go to the bathroom it doesnt really hurt but as soon and i'm up on it for a while it really hurts bad. I even started to limp when walking.. Theres no difference with shoes or no shoes the pain is the same. Has anyone ever felt this before? I started putting cold and warm compresses on it when i'm at home aswell!

The first culprit might be the shoes. If they are cheap or old (like what I use to wear), then getting some foot cramping/discomfort is likely to happen on occasion. I don't think the pain you describe is due to dehydration, but I'll mention it anyway, in case it's a combination of several factors. Hydrating before a workout and during (even when you're not thirsty) helps keep the muscles wet and less likely to cramp. Another idea would be to purchase some rubber insoles for your shoes. That could help provide you some more cushion.
If it continues to bother you, it could be a plantar fasciitis (sp?) issue, in which you'd want to see a doctor.
Good luck to you, hope this is just a temporary thing!0
