I am trying to create a recipe based on the ingredients we are using for our pasta sauce tonight, I have entered everything BUT I don't know what to say at "how many servings."
This is what we are adding...if it helps someone tell me how many servings I should say it is, as I plan on using only 1 cup of the sauce on my pasta but on the pasta jar the nutritional info is per 1/2 cup and when I calculate it says per serving....well how much is it saying??? I am so confused and not finding an answer on their site

2-700ML Pc Blue menu tomato & basil pasta sauce
3- medium stalks celery
3 gloves garlic
438 grams extra lean ground beef

For the entire recipe you are making how many total servings does it include. If the final product is 4 cups and you want to eat 1 cup then the servings would be 4.
  • I just started thinking that, the jars of sauce are almost 3 cups ( so 6 servings per jar) so I was going to put 12 servings as I know how much I plan on using...and hopefully hubby follows along lol
    Thanks

If you enter the entire contents of the jar as part of the recipe, then when you enter the number of servings it will calculate correctly even if the amount of sauce you are using is different than the amount of a serving labeled on the jar. Is that what you are asking? Basically if a serving is 1/2 cup and it says there are 6 servings in a jar, then put 3 cups in the recipe calculator. As to how to find your serving size, you may have to measure out your whole recipe to see how much is there, then enter that in for how big a serving you want it to be.

When I did my recipe I had to estimate the serving. I was making a casserole so I guesstimated how many peices I would cut the entire casserole in. I came up with 12 for the size pan I used.

Yours is more liguid so the most accurate way would be to measure the entire amount when done and see how many cups you have. Just guesstimating based on your measurements. 700 ml is about 3 cups and 438 grams is about one pound. So you would probably end up with somewhere between 4 to 6 one cup servings of sauce?? So your servings would be whatever your closest estimate. Hope this helps.
  • I guess I will leave it all open and wait till we make the sauce and measure it all, might annoy hubby but I want to make sure i am getting all the info correct. for a family of 5 we always use 2 jars so I am thinking I will end up with 8-12 servings but will measure to be sure
Thanks everyone for replying so fast
