Reccomended 1200 daily but only burning 1290 a day.

I'm confused again. MFP tells me I should eat 1200 calories a day but then says that I only burn 1290 a day on daily activities leaving me with a daily deficit of only 90 calories which in turn means I'll lose less than a quarter pound a week.

Since I have 20 pounds to lose that would take me 20 months to lose that much. WTH!! almost two years to lose 20 pounds. This doesn't seem correct to me.

Have I done something incorrectly to cause MFP to tell me 1200 is my max? Or is that amount actually a bit high?

I don't know what to do now.

The 1200 already has your calorie deficit built in and is likely too low to start with. Google BMR and TDEE, plug your numbers into the calculators you'll find and see what you should be eating.
