Night Time Eating...

So I'm after a little advice here, maybe you guys can think of something I haven't.
I started on here about 6 weeks ago. The first 4 weeks were fantastic, I lost 4kgs (approx 8lbs), I was exercising most days, my appetite had shrunk, I was feeling great. Life was good. Then my 5 month old son got sick (a cold), and very very cranky- he stopped breast feeding, (absolutely 100% refused to, screaming and squirming when I tried) and was draining me emotionally. I felt like a failure because I could no longer feed him myself, and took to reading whenever he blissfully went to sleep and eating. Chocolate mostly. It comforted me, but I have put 2kgs back on. I started to feel drained and lethargic, not only because of my mood, but because my diet had swung waaaay back to the bad side.
I recognised this 4 or so days ago now, and have been trying to get back into the swing of eating well, and making myself exercise again. This is fine during the day, my son keeps me occupied, and going for walks is one of the things he enjoys most. However come 8pm when he's down for the count, I want to eat, and the craving is for sweets or carbs. I've tried just...not. But my willpower always seems to fail me in the end, and I binge right before bed. >.<
Any suggestions? I know I could/should just go to bed earlier, but I find myself just lying awake. I've considered going for a walk instead of eating, but I cannot leave my son home alone, and refuse to wake him up when he's just gone to sleep.
