Women that lift--how long before you saw results?

I just started a week ago and am ready to increase my reps on the next workout. Not expecting to see results overnight but approx. how long did it take for you to start seeing the changes? What are your stats? I'm looking to reduce overall BF% and general tone up but hoping to see the difference in the coming weeks! :)

Also, if any of you have comparison pics, I'd love to see them! :flowerforyou:

Assuming you probably aren't as fit to start as the lady in the pics above.. I started seeing results very quickly. Here is from Jan 1 to today.. hard to see cause of the lighting but I've definitely toned up

    SW: 181 lbs, BF% 31.9
    CW: 168 lbs, BF% 25

    Hips 39"
    Thighs 23.5"

It took a month before I felt a difference. I also still had 30-40 lbs to lose so its hard to see the real results right away, in my case. I can totally see muscles now (after 5 months of lifting). But hope to see much more definition as the weight keeps coming off. I still want to lose another 25 lbs at least. I love the feeling of being stronger and I can flex and there are MUSCLES!!!! :)

Depends on the results you're talking about. You can make great linear strength gains...those results are phenomenal and come quickly. Body composition, not so much. Body re-composition takes time...yes, the results come as you continue to shed the fat and the existing muscle that you've helped preserve starts showing...but it's not magic and it's not a get ripped or whatever in 90 days thing.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but I do want people to be realistic. People work for years on body composition...there are no quick fixes when it comes to weight loss or fitness.

Depends how genetically you are made to see muscular gain/fat losses.

My fiancee is a more extreme muscle gainer/fat loser than normal but her results occurred since last week October.

Never shoot too low, you can achieve more than you think!

Working with a trainer on light lifting, alternating with cardio in the pool, and the occasional day of personal work with the weights, I have noticed a difference in just over 4 weeks. Can't say how fast it has actually happened because I had a TON to shift around, but I have dropped a dress size (4x tops - 3x tops, 4x pants minimum - 2x pants that are loosening daily). Before and during pics are in my profile.

Honestly, it was pretty quick. I started lifting mid January and my body does not even look close to what it did before.

To this point Yo now fits into size 6 trousers/jeans, a size she hasn't been since 2005, she tell me.

I wouldn't know, I didn't stalk her til more recently

I didnt see much of a change until i cleaned up my diet. I got stronger but i still had a lot of bodyfat. Once I cleaned up my diet completely i lost 10lbs of fat in one month and maintained my strength and my muscles started coming through more. Weight lifting is great but without the diet it will be hard to see results especially when you are very close to your goal weight anyway.

I still have fat to shed before I REALLY start seeing big results, I think. But I am seeing a bit of a difference from when I started back in January.
