I had a quick look at your profile where you say your daughter is 11 years old. I would take her to the city library to look at some nutrition books in the children's section. Ask the librarian to help you locate some. It's going to help her in all her future papers as well to learn how to locate information. Have fun together!

Some cancer cells (in tumors, etc.) use sugar to grow/thrive. This, of course, doesn't explain why your daughter doesn't want to eat sweets now.......but you can look this up; there were news stories about this.

too much sugar in the blood leads to diabetes

    :noway:

Not true. Too much sugar, if it sends you outside your TDEE, can cause you to put weight on and obesity is one of the many possible causes of Type 2 diabetes. But it is not due to "too much sugar in the blood" from eating it.

As others have said, your daughter will learn the most if she researches this herself. Some useful websites to point her towards include:

I wouldn't recommend getting facts from replies on a message board...a lot of folks on here are misinformed and still believe old diet myths. Please use your local library and/or google reputable websites for the information you need.

    That said...empty calories, processed/unnatural ingredients
