elbow injury and lifting

I injured my forarm/elbow on Monday at work. On Wensday it was really sore and there was a noticable lump. Two days not on the production line has really helped. That and voltaren emugel . I am allowed to pick things up, but not to anything on the lines that aggriavtes it. I work in a garlic bread factory. So light , fast paced.

I have had the week off doing any weights and I miss it. I hope to be cleared to go back on properly at work on Monday. I really hate being on Alternate duties. Try telling people it's not light duties and I can lift a bit. Just not like 20 kgs or anything stupid.

Has anyone had any experience with tennis elbow or simular types of pain? When lifting are elbow supports a help or a bad thing when lifting? I have been making progress with squats and dead lifts, just using dumbells. I want to keep making progress , but obviously don't want to mess up my elbow. At the moment rest is working well on the healing front, so they might not send me to the doctor.
