I have some dumbells and was thinking about getting a kettlebell. Can I get the same results using 1 dumbell? Or would I get better benefits / results from a kettlebell? I'd hate to waste money on a kettlebell but if you tell me it's worth it and is better for me than I may consider. Thanks!

I'm no expert but I do kettlebell workouts and I also use dumbbells in other workouts. I do not think you can use a dumbbell instead of a kettlebell. the whole way you use the kettlebell is way different than using a dumbbell. check out amazon.com for kettlebells they have some better pricing. my next purchase will be from them when I'm ready to progress to heavier weight.

you can substitute the two. anything that you can do with one can also be done with the other.

the only difference between a dumbbell and kettlebell of the same weight is the centers of gravity.

also the only way you'd get better results witha KB vs a dummbell (if you're doing the same movements) is if you're using a heavier KB than the DB you'd chose

They are both weights. Your muscles don't really care where the handle is located when you lift something heavy. Some moves are easier to pull off with one vs the other. But there is nothing magical about either one.

Find an effective training program and put your efforts into it. That's all that matters.
