A new start

So I am new here, and this is actually my first attempt at activity watching what I eat for weight loss reasons.

When I was in my teens and early 20s I was hypoglycemic and so I constantly had to make sure I was eating tons. While I was pregnant and nursing my son I easily ate 3000-3500 minimum calories a day. Which is a lot for a 5'2, 95-105 lb waif. Carbs and fats were my life, most of which was whole foods and lots of garden veggies.

Now after several years of hormone imbalances, miscarriages, being a stay at home mom, and a full time college student, and (finally) a slower metablosim, have caused me to gain weight. Last month a visit to the clinic and I discovered I was just over 150 lbs. (although my current scale says about 144, but it is off.)

Now that I recently graduated, I am starting anew. I am looking to lose about 25 lbs, but more importantly looking at how I am eating and cutting back on the sugars and carbs, eating healthy and staying active. Many of the women in my family are early diabetics, and due to my early blood sugar issues I am high risk for also developing diabetes.

I try to eat clean foods as much as possible and I love to cook. At the moment I do not any red meat unless it is grass fed, or venison. I do eat some store bought chicken and seafood. We are currently raising poultry and lamb along with our organic garden on our homestead. I had been semi-vegetarian for quite a few years, (due to my hormonal issues) although the past couple of years I have been eating more meats due to conveince and funds. I am looking to getting back into more non-soy (soy messes with my hormones) vegetarian foods.

I also have caffeine and sulfates/sulfides intolerances- so no soda, wine (unless home brewed), or dried fruits etc... A lot of boxed foods or preservatives are not good for my system. I can however have small amounts of chocolate or tea (watered down).

I have logging my typical foods for the past few days (well almost typical, once I realized how much sugar was in my "healthy" homemade lemonade I cut how much I was drinking in half, and reduced my portions of pasta in half) I would appreciate any advice and support, especially from anyone else who had previous low blood sugar issues.
