Breakfast ideas?

Okay, breakfast is my biggest problem. I work a very long schedule, and I go to school, so I definitely need a big, filling breakfast to keep me going for the day.
But it seems that no matter WHAT I eat, I'm always hungry an hour later. And I mean, stomach cramping hungry.
I've tried everything, from a bowl of cereal and a fruit, to a 3 egg white omelet with turkey bacon, sausage and a slice of whole grain toast with orange juice and a fruit. YEP! All that and I was still STARVING an hour later.
I'm not extremely active; I don't play sports or work out or anything. I do run around quite a lot at my job (I'm similar to a waitress, you can say) and I am 20 years old, so I'm fairly young so I guess I am a growing, hungry girl. But I need something to stop my hunger!
Also : I can't stand oatmeal or yogurt. It makes me sick so thats a definitive NO.

What is your water intake like? We are often tricked into feeling we are hungry when our bodies are dehydrated. Our body craves the water from the foods. My guess is your breakfast is high in sodium and bad fats so perhaps this is what is triggering your hunger?
Egg white omelets are in no way filling. Try eating the whole egg, Half of the eggs protein is in the yolk. It is a myth about eggs being high in cholesterol and bad for you http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/healthscience/2012/october/cholesterol-myth-what-really-causes-heart-disease/
Breakfast is not just about breakfast foods. I cook up a tonne of chicken breast with spices on a Sunday and keep it to use all week. Some mornings I will eat a good protein like 100g of chicken and make it into an omelet with some peppers. I sometimes have a protein smoothies such as Plant Fusion which is really filling but might be a bit expensive if you are a student. Have you tried Greek yoghurt? I am a Greek yoghurt nut. It is so rich and filling but only eat the full fat stuff. It has more protein and fills you up way more than the 0% stuff.
Try to snack on a few nuts or perhaps a piece of fruit if you get hunger pangs at 11am. The question is to ask yourself when you feel hungry "could I eat a plate of chicken and broccoli right now" if yes, you are probably hungry. If not, you have a craving which you need to train your body out of.
You don't say what cereal you are eating? That would be good to know.0 -
Im not big on oatmeal either but I love cream of wheat. Not a huge fan of yogurt by itself either.. I tolerate it sometimes but I'd much rather use vanilla yogurt in a fruit smoothie which does keep me full and I can take it with me in my Starbucks cold cup. Im sure you could find an alternative to yogurt in a smoothie since it makes you sick, if you wanted.0

You know what, the whole "you don't have to stick to breakfast foods" thing, is actually a really good idea. I recall a couple years back, when I didn't know how to cook for the life of me, I'd just eat my mom's leftover beef patties and chicken legs for breakfast and I'd be full for a very long time. I wonder if I eat some chicken with an omelette and vegetables, if it would be healthier? And I'm very cautious about cholesterol, thats why I eat egg whites. But now that I read it's a myth, maybe I can eat one yolk or so ^_^

Multi grain Cherios are kinda pointless to be honest. They are not filling or particularly nutrient dense.
You need to try eating more nutrient dense foods. Try cooking up some tasty chicken legs, they are affordable and super tasty for breakfast!
Steer clear of processed means such as turkey bacon, sausage (unless you have made the sausage patty yourself), hams etc. Perhaps make up some breakfast patties yourself and keep them in the fridge? They are pretty decent cold tbh.
I make breakfast sausage all the time with ground pork. Sometimes I just cook up a lot of ground pork with a bit of onion and some herbs/spices and keep it for omelet fillings so it is quick and easy.0 -
Sometimes I have precooked turkey breakfast sausage with a little drizzle of (real) maple syrup.
But when I was growing up, I really didn't like breakfast food, so I would eat whatever (cold chili and all kinds of very non-breakfasty things). There's no rule about having to eat "breakfast".0 -
That sounds like a great idea.. I usually buy the processed ones only so I can see the calorie count. How would I be able to know the calories if I make it myself? Sorry if it's a stupid question.0

If I cook anything from scratch I literally have my iPhone on the counter and weigh the ingredients as I put them into something and work out the overall calories that way.
I go to the add a recipe bit and make up for example some patties before frying and work out the cals for the mix overall and then portion it off and then I select how many servings it is.
It takes a bit of time but at least you know it's right and can keep on track.
